As China celebrated Space Day on April 24, the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology received a group of special guests – namely, students from Shanghai Huangpu Fuxing Donglu No 3 Primary School.
The kids trooped into the academy's exhibition hall to learn about the extraordinary history of China's aerospace development and the most cutting-edge technologies and their achievements.
They also learned about the selfless and fearless spirit of space scientists and engineers and listened to the stories of space researchers who worked hard to overcome the challenges and difficulties in the space industry.
Primary school principal Ji Junling said the visit would help the students to explore the mysteries of science, promote the spirit of aerospace and cultivate an innovative spirit in them.
The Young Pioneer Rocket Association initiated by the primary school has been developing for 26 years since its establishment.
It's led its members to organize and participate in various kinds of activities to promote the knowledge of aerospace, science and technology – both inside and outside the school.
