I. Eligibility of Applicants

Children who are six years old born between September 1, 2015 and August 31, 2016without a registered domicile in Shanghai (aka Shanghai “Hukou”) and who have met

the admission conditions of Huangpu District are eligible for application. Childrenwho are unable to enroll in the current year due to special circumstances e.g. a

medical condition may apply with the district education administration to defer admission for one year. Children who were not able to enroll in the previous year due

III. Processes for Online Information Registration and Confirmation for

Children of Eligible Age Group

1. The “Government Online-Offline Shanghai” website (zwdt.sh.gov.cn) and the Shanghai Municipality Compulsory Education Admission Application System

(shrxbm.edu.sh.gov.cn) are used for primary school admissions of Huangpu District for the year 2022. The working method of “online registration, information collection + information comparison” for admissions is adopted, whereby the information of children of eligible age group shall be registered and applications shall be made online with public or private primary schools by utilizing modern information technology.

2. June 4 to June 19 is the period designated for information registration in the Shanghai Municipality Compulsory Education Admission Application System. Children of eligible age group must obtain the Shanghai Municipality Primary School Admission Information Registration Form (the “Registration Form”) and the Notice for Admission Application (the “Notice”) and complete information registration and confirmation within this period. Parents of a child of eligible age group who is currently enrolled in a

kindergarten may obtain the Registration Form and the Notice and compete admission information registration and confirmation for the child at such kindergarten.

Parents of a child of eligible age group who is not currently enrolled in a kindergarten shall go to the website of Huangpu District Education Examinations Center (https://zhaoban.hpe.cn/), download the Shanghai Municipality Primary School Admission Information Registration Form (Blank), fill out and sign the registration form, and send by email scanned copies or photos of the registration form and other related documents, altogether in a compressed file, to the designated email address for primary school admissions of the sub-district to which the address of the intended school belongs. The title of such email shall be “Child’s Name + Sub-district Name” (Sub-district names include Nandong, Waitan, Yuyuan, Laoximen, Xiaodongmen, Bansongyuan, Ruijin, Huaihai, Dapu, Wuli), and the name of the compressed file shall be identical to the email title. The relevant registration form and notice will be sent back to the parents by email.

3. The person signing the registration form in the “Guardian’s Signature” box therein must be the same person identified as the guardian therein. The contact

telephone number shall be the guardian’s mobile phone number. Please make sure the guardian can be reached at such number in order to receive various

notifications regarding the application. 4. After information registration and confirmation, the phone number provided by the guardian and associated with the application will receive short messages from “Shanghai Basic Education” and “Government Online-Offline Shanghai” before online verification. Parents may also log into the Shanghai Municipality Compulsory Education Admission Application System (shrxbm.edu.sh.gov.cn) for the relevant information.

IV. Online Verification Processes, Documentation Requirements and Admission Processes for Public Primary Schools

Online verification is used for admissions by public primary schools this year. Electronic credentials will be collectively accessed from “Government Online-Offline Shanghai” and compared with the registered information. Parents of children who have passed online verification will receive notifications by short messages and in the “Admission Application System”; parents of children who have been found with discrepancies or insufficient supporting information shall, as required by the short messages sent from “Shanghai Basic Education” and within the designated period of time, send the scanned copies or photos of the Shanghai Municipality Primary School Admission Information Registration Form and the credentials provided at the time of registration, altogether in a compressed file, to the designated email address of the verification site for the latter to compare and verify. The email title shall be the child’s name and the name of the compressed file shall be identical to the email title. Time for Verification of First Batch: July 4 - July 10, 8:30-11:30, 13:30-16:00; Time for Verification of Second Batch: July 25 - July 26, 8:30-11:30, 13:30-16:00;

Documentation Requirements

Admission of children of eligible age group who have met admission conditions will be arranged within the sub-district according to the overall planning. If the number of registered applicants exceeds the planned total number of admissions by the schools within the sub-district, admissions into district-wide primary schools will be arranged according to the overall planning
