Foreign school-age children shall register their enrollment information in the kindergarten they enrolled, and parents of school-age children who are not enrolled in any kindergarten shall register their children's enrollment information through the designated way of the district, and obtain the Shanghai Primary School Enrollment Information Registration Form and the "Enrollment Registration Notice" as an important basis for enrollment.

2. Parents of foreign school-age children who meet the enrollment conditions must register for enrollment in the compulsory education enrollment column of the "Government Online-Offline Shanghai" website (english.shanghai.gov.cn) or the "Shanghai Compulsory Education Enrollment Registration System", and choose "Public Primary School registration" or "Private Primary School registration". Taking 2023 as an example, the registration period for public primary schools is from May 6 to May 10, and the registration period for private primary schools is from May 6 to May 8.

3. In terms of registration verification time, two times are provided for foreign school-age children. Taking 2023 as an example, the first batch of verification time is from May 16 to May 19; the second batch of verification time is from May 25 to May 26.

4. Admission for foreign school-age children:

Registration of public primary schools: eligible foreign school-age children are first arranged in the street. If the actual number of registration is greater than the total number of schools planned to enroll in the street, they shall be arranged in the district's primary schools.

Registration of private schools: in principle, foreign students participate in private school admission in the same way as domestic students. When the number of applicants exceeds the enrollment plan, the computer random admission applies.
